Assistant Director of Building Maintenance• Management of repairs and maintenance service to 20,000 homes, with staff team of 21 and a budget of £8m;• Addressed serious failings in environmental health and disrepair cases, resulting in reduction of 171 cases to 45 within 5 months• Reduced numbers of complaints and addressed all long term complaints cases to avert escalation • Advised on PQQ and participated in subsequent evaluation of tenders for proposed outsourced maintenance contracts• Implemented a range of audit recommendations to improve financial controls following a KPMG review of services

Dec 06 – Apr 08 • Opened new depot and facilities, and managed the internal DLO, operatives, stores and works ordering systems;• Delivery of repairs and maintenance service to 14000 homes, with staff team of 63 and a revenue budget of £5.5m;• Delivered £1m capital works programme; • Improved performance, productivity, and efficiency of maintenance division through rigorous controls, processes and management of staff.
