SWEPCO’s regulatory affairs representative for the state of Texas. Provide regulatory support and expertise to executive leadership and all functional areas of the company. Managed Southeast Pricing & Rate Options team, with responsibility for rate design and tariff administration for three Duke utilities operating in the Carolinas and Florida. Planned and executed pricing strategies for standard offerings and customized applications, including innovative approaches for emerging issues.

Planned and managed business process audits within the franchised utility business and other areas of the company. Identified key risks, and evaluated mitigation and management of those risks. Fostered relationships with internal clients throughout the business. Audits included Save-A-Watt energy efficiency model, Ohio Electric Security Plan (ESP) processes, Gibson Generating Station operations, Smart Grid stimulus fund management, and natural gas pipeline integrity monitoring.

Performed oversight of the Texas power markets. Evaluated tariffs of regulated utilities to ensure compliance with State law and Commission policy. Researched and analyzed rate design and cost allocation issues. Prepared and presented testimony as an expert witness. Provided policy recommendations. Conducted Commission rulemaking proceedings, research of retail prices in the competitive market, and other activities as necessary.

Provided shape and direction for the new energy group at SNL Financial, a leading sector-focused data and news provider. Created and standardized procedures for processing power and natural gas financial and operating data from numerous sources. Hired, trained, and managed analyst team responsible for on-going regulatory data processing, quality control, client service, and product development. Identified and implemented new product offerings per client needs. Engaged in significant cross-functional project work.

Maintained and grew existing client accounts and assisted in development of new relationships for a leading independent energy research and consulting firm.
