I'm a California attorney who works as a sole practitioner in Butte County and surrounding Counties of Northern California. I handle primarily criminal defense cases of all types, both felony and misdemeanor. I focus on defending those who are charged with gang crimes, violent crime, DUI, and drug offenses. While these are my primary practice areas I am experienced handling all types of California criminal cases in State Court. While every case is different, some of my clients have had their charges dismissed, been acquitted at trial, or received generous plea bargains. I strive for all of my clients to achieve the most favorable resolution possible.I also am admitted to practice in the Federal Court for the Eastern District of California, and occasionally handle criminal matters filed in Federal Court.

As part of my practice I contract with the County of Butte, California, to represent Criminal Defendants who are indigent and otherwise unable to afford an attorney. While I am in private practice and do not work in a public defender's office, clients that I represent under contract with the County of Butte represent a significant percentage of my law practice. I have had the opportunity to gain a vast amount of experience handling court appointed cases ranging from Environmental Crimes, to violent crimes, gang charges, drug crimes, DUI, all types of property crimes, Domestic Violence, and everything in between.My work defending indigent defendants under contract with Butte County has exposed me to more criminal defense experience than private practice criminal defense attorneys receive in their entire careers. I have been fortunate to have the huge advantage to be self-employed in private practice, and not working under the bureaucracy of a public defender's office. Clients who are not indigent can retain me to defend them in criminal cases and reap the benefits of my extensive Criminal Defense experience in Northern California.

I was appointed by the presiding judge of the Superior Court to represent a defendant where each of the contracted public defenders in the county had a conflict of interest. My client initially faced an exposure of life in prison, and after I was appointed to represent the defendant the District Attorney eventually dismissed the two most serious charges against my client on the morning of jury trial, my Client avoided a conviction for rape and assault with a deadly weapon and substantially reduced his potential maximum exposure to State Prison if he had been convicted of all charges.

I was appointed by the County of Glenn to represent a defendant in a Marijuana Cultivation and Sales case in a multiple co-defendant case where the public defender(s) who would typically handle the case had conflicts of interest.

I did paralegal work researching and writing motions for summary judgment in Americans with Disabilities Acts cases and Unruh Civil Rights Act cases for litigation in California Superior Courts and Federal District Courts.
