Accountable as functional manager for Construction Management. Key projects: Martabe Gold Project, Kestrel Mine Extension, Lihir flotation upgrade. Worked on several proposals, including Mina de Cobre Panama ($1.6B EPC). Developing new project work for Thiess in the Coal Seam Gas sector.

Concept and detailed design, procurement, construction and commissioning "turnkey" - mix of greenfield and brownfield work. Full repsonsibilty for all aspects of project, led team from concept design and bid stage to financial close, detailed design and construction.

Working on a series of proposals and early design works in the water Industry totalling $400M. Folowing an extended period working away from home, I decided not to pursue opportunities with Vic Desal due to family commitments and high-school age kids in Brisbane so took this position with Thiess Qld.

Established Project Controls Systems for the $3.5B Vic Desal Project. This included the establishement of the budget structure, and around 20 different applications used in the management of the project. Building on learnings from other major projects - East Link, Lane Cove Tunnel, Airport Link, and my in-depth familiarity with Thiess' systems, I produced a complete project controls plan during this period which was fully implemented.

Managed the Thiess Process SMP estimate ($550M) for the Vic Desal Project. Tender successful. Scope of estimate was Mech, Pipe, and Misc Structural works.

Zn Pb Concentrator Upgrade Project at Mt Isa $150M

Alliance Manager for $520M Dawson Alliance. Was previously Deputy Alliance Manager.

Managed on-site construction planning, procurement, controls and reporting.

Managed project controls, reporting, estimating, systems, quality and document control for JV building coal processing and handling plants totalling approx $1,000 M during this tenure.

Responsible for roll out of JDE Project Management module throughout Thiess which included training on project budgets, cost management systems, approving project budget uploads and specifying improvements to the software. During this time I also undertook project reviews, and redeveloped the Project Financial Management training course for Thiess, Thiess Services and STCJV.
