I help to create a safe environment for students and staff at North Montgomery High School. I also help aid teachers in maintaining a positive environment conducive to learning for all students. I oversee most discipline issues at the school as we strive to hold high expectations for our students and help them to reach their potential not only academically, but also behaviorally as we prepare these students for their path after high school.I also take part in teacher evaluations, creating professional development, and helping to oversee our school's 1:1 initiative using iPads and now Chromebooks in the classroom. Our most recent initiative is helping to oversee the implementation of educational neuroscience. We seek to help teachers and students learn more about their brains, how they function, and how we can take that information to better emotionally regulate ourselves and prime our brains for learning to occur. As a part of this initiative, I have created weekly learning modules where teachers and students learn about the their own neuroanatomy during Mindful Monday sessions.

Have taught freshman biology at both the entry and honors level. Have taught environmental science as well.Currently teaching chemistry, principles of biomedical science, human body systems, and integrated chemistry/physics.I coach the science academic team as well as serve as a head coach for the boys tennis team and an assistant coach for the girls tennis team.Have led professional development for new technology in the district, professional reading, and content development.Was named the 2013 Outstanding Educator by the Indiana Association of Biology Teachers.
