In my current role within Muir, I sit on the Group’s Joint Leadership Team and hold People and Governance responsibility and accountability for approximately 150 employees across a number of offices and schemes throughout the UK.My main focus within this role is two fold. Firstly to lead the Group’s People strategy and offering, ensuring the attraction, development and retention of talented and satisfied employees through the design, development and implementation of best practice and fit for purpose People and Organisational Development ways of working, initiatives and solutions while driving the Employee Health, Safety and Well-being agenda. Secondly and as of January 2021, I became responsible and accountable for Muir's Governance Framework and related arrangements including Board; Corporate Performance Management; Risk; Business Continuity; Internal Audit and Data Protection compliance.

In my current role within Muir, I sit on the Group’s Joint Leadership Team and hold HR&OD, Employee Health, Safety and Wellbeing, Data Protection and Communications responsibility and accountability for approximately 150 employees across a number of offices and schemes throughout the UK.My focus within this role is to lead the Group’s People strategy and offering, ensuring the attraction, development and retention of talented and satisfied employees through the design, development and implementation of best practice and fit for purpose HR&OD ways of working, initiatives and solutions while driving the Employee Health, Safety and Wellbeing agenda and ensuring Data Protection compliance in line with the new GDPR. During my employment with Muir Group, I have led and implemented numerous new ways of working, initiatives and solutions including Induction and Onboarding; Performance Management Framework (including Talent & Succession); Man Power Planning; Employee Recognition; Agile Working; Job Evaluation and Salary Benchmarking; Employee Engagement Framework and Leadership Development and Coaching as well as the introduction of HR&OD Management Information and Key Performance Indicators and the redesign and launch of the Group’s Staff Association.

In this role I provided HR and People Management services on an interim basis to Muir Group. This involved working in partnership with the Assistant Director of HR&OD, Chief Executive and wider senior stakeholders in order to deliver a number of HR projects including restructure and re-organisation, TUPE, policy and procedure review and development together with leading on complex employee relations cases and coaching of managers.

In January 2019, I was appointed as the Chair of the Board of Trustees for a local charity called SPACE Cheshire which provides accessible and sensory play sessions for children with additional needs as well as parental support and resources for their families. This is a role and charity which I am immensely proud and passionate about and to be part of.

In this role as Senior HR Business Partner, I sat on a Leadership Team and held HR responsibility and accountability for the Transmission & Distribution Services business within AMEC Power & Process Europe. This business comprises of approximately 1000 white and blue collar employees across a number of projects and alliance style contracts. My focus in this role was centered on people strategy and leadership; growth; customer focus and business support.Within this role I led, managed and facilitated change management and business improvement initiatives, organisational restructures and also worked as part of global teams concerning business integration through the merging of businesses and the People and HR interfaces of global Finance and Payroll Systems (MDAX and Work Day)I also had significant exposure to, led and or managed: recruitment & selection (inc International); design and facilitation of company induction; management of complex disciplinary & grievance; large scale TUPE and integration (in and out); project start up; employee dispute resolution; working with and negotiation with trade unions / collective consultation and bargaining representatives (GMB and UNITE) ; working rule agreements; employment tribunal and case management; absence management; forming and managing business alliances; organisational restructuring; end to end management of complex and sensitive redundancy including leading consultation and managing selection; succession planning; talent management; diversity and inclusion; pay, reward and recognition review and implementation; employee engagement; occupational health / welfare management and workshop / training design and facilitation.

During this 12 month industrial placement my main role was to co-ordinate graduate and undergraduate recruitment & selection. This involved HR planning, job role analysis, development of job descriptions and person specifications, advertising positions within appropriate media, receiving, storing and short listing applications against specific criteria and organising and conducting subsequent interviews and assessment centres. I also redesigned company literature, organised company training, led company presentations and was involved in general office and HRM administration.
