GBS covers Finance, HR, Facilities, Vendor Management, Data Governance and the Client Function. The Application Architecture team was formed in 2012 with a remit to standardise, simplify and consolidate across the global GBS application estate. Aligned to a broader initiative to transform and standardise IT infrastructure.

Responsible for all IT systems used by Finance, ensuring that they were both effectively supported and strategically developed. Emphasis placed on Oracle applications including the E-Business Suite, Hyperion Essbase, Planning and HFM, these forming the core of the current technology solution. Much of the time in this role aligned with the delivery of the Finance System Roadmap, a programme encompassing the technical elements of a Finance transformation initiative.

Management and development of a team of five to seven permanent staff, plus other contract resources, in the support and development of a global application instance. Footprint over this time expanded from 7 to 14 Finance centres and user base to more than 300 Finance staff and 3,000 self-service users. Modules used grew from General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets and iExpenses to include iProcurement, Purchasing, Project Costing and Time and Labor.
