Hired in the Birmingham, Alabama market to handle HR field functions in a district of 16 retail drug stores, I was later transferred to Atlanta, Georgia following the sale of the stores in Alabama. I handled HR functions for up to 90 stores in 3 districts, covering 3 states.

As the Plant Human Resources Manager for this poultry production plant of approximately 400 employees, I was responsible for staffing, safety, worker’s compensation, and the other HR tasks.

In early 1992 I was hired into this newly created position responsible for HR in convenience stores in Alabama and Tennessee. The main focus was on improving supervisory skills among managers, and thereby reducing claims of harassment and discrimination.

Originally hired during college as a Shipping Foreman, I was promoted to an Area Training Coordinator following graduation, and later to a Department Sales Manager.
