Worked as a system test engineer on satellite buses, specifically, running tests all the way from organizing teams from across multiple disciplines to automating specific electrical and hardware tests.Strict use and administration of git versioning control was implemented to maintain and deploy test scripts, written in python.System knowledge of the spacecraft was acquired and needed to not only test the spacecraft correctly but recognize problems and prevent damage in real time while the vehicle was powered on.Tests were designed for the system as a whole or for each component within the system gathering input from the component SME and making the scripts as necessary to automate and have as little human interaction as necessary.Took on the role of a certified test conductor which held the responsibility of test and space craft operations, personnel, schedule, and execution.Other scripting languages used are Perl and Bash.

Part of the System Integration, Testing, and Validation team on a program for ground station software for satellites.The technical lead for the test automation and test tool software group, that included tasking the group in an agile environment and expressing staffing needs to higher management.Work included formal requirement selloff with the customer as well as informal validation of the system using simulators to represent external users.Responsibilities also include building and maintaining the tools and simulators used in the automated testing using Perl and Java with a focus on object oriented programming.Primarily was responsible for the programs that build, encrypt, and authenticate web service messages in SOAP and RESTful services and are deployed across multiple environments. This along with the other external simulators, that were built and maintained, allowed for autonomous Day in the Life (DITL) type testing of the software, 24 hours a day if necessary.This was done in an agile environment split up in to sprints to facilitate continuous integration and deployment of the software system.

Developed testing methods and requirements for a software application that utilizes a GUI to connect the user to the communication systemUsed DOORS management software to track requirements, Rational ClearCase for version control, and Rational ClearQuest to track non-conformance of the software package.Test automation of the software through batch files and c# scripting was also incorporated to increase efficiency, quality, and accuracy of the test.Within System test, testing of optics, electrical, RF, and mechanical systems was performed to verify that the overall system met the requirements set forth by the customer. This included integration and test efforts and generation of integration and test procedures. Working knowledge of optical and RF communication was necessary as well as TCP/IP network configuration.Use of the command line interface within both Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems was needed to fully test system.

Developed testing methods for vibration and thermal testing based on customer requirements and Mil-Std-810G, develop and perform various environment tests, including vibration, shock, thermal, drip, salt fog, and leak check, perform dynamic testing (vibration, shock, proofread) on avionics equipment utilizing shaker and drop machines, perform large number channel (>50 channels) dynamic testing on space reflectors via shakers, acceleration response limiting, and multiple bearing set-up, analyze shock dat to achieve SRS (shock response spectrum) curves via Matlab and other software, perform data acquisition on shock and dynamic events, determine data acquisition parameters and sampling rate and develop tools in Excel VBA and Matlab to help in analyzing dynamic and thermal data.
