My professional experience for the last twenty two years, has been primarily in the aviation industry as an Airline Transport Pilot (pax & cargo), including a few stints of supplemental employment as an engineering contractor, during historical periods of roller coaster performances throughout the airline industry! After graduating from engineering school in 1994, my goal was to join one of the big three automakers in Detroit and help design the first vehicle to run on water as an environmentally conscientious engineer! In September 1998, I joined Ford Motor Company's R & D team as a research engineer in their Alternative Fuel Vehicles Division. By April 2000, Ford Motor Company (P2000), along with GM and Chrysler had designed, manufactured and delivered three hydrogen powered "concept" vehicles to the US Department Of Energy in Washington D.C.. After receiving scientific approval and validation from the DOE and the EPA research committees, my ultimate automotive engineering goal had been fulfilled!Having always dreamed of being an airline pilot after riding in the front seat of a Cessna 172 aircraft as a wide-eyed kid, with my dad as Pilot in Command, now would be the perfect time to do it! In September 2000, after leaving Ford Motor Co, I finally got a chance to pursue the goal of become an airline pilot with my first regional airline... Mesa Airlines, based in Phoenix, AZ.!Twenty two years and several airlines later, it's been a long but joyous ride! When I first became an airline pilot, I used to marvel at the size of the aircraft I got a chance to fly, now, I marvel at the size of my friendships and relationships I've built over the years! The fun has been in the journey! My career goals are to continue expanding my aviation skillsets as a professional airline pilot with a strong focus on operational safety and customer satisfaction!
