• Commercially responsible for Mapei (UK) Limited concrete admixture business development.• Provide technical service to facilitate product selection and sales:• Customer facing, technical queries, laboratory and site trials, reports, and ongoing support.• Manage technical service laboratory:• Health and safety, mix design/product development, training, and complaint handling.

• Responsible for technical services laboratory:• Supervise two technical service engineers involved in research and development, initial type testing, factory production control, and customer trials.• Health and safety, test frequencies, training, equipment calibrations, and complaint handling.• Manage complex technical projects:• Liaise with regional sales managers and customers, concrete mix design, reports, and site support.• Deliver training courses internally, to customers, and industry.

• Provide technical support and training to members and local authorities on a wide variety of road surface treatments.• Develop and deliver CIHT approved CPD training courses enabling contractor supervisors and managers to obtain a “Silver certificate” (evidence of up-skilling in line with National Highways Sector Scheme 13 requirements).

• Manage district technical team (4 senior technicians, 12 technicians) and day to day operations of a construction materials factory production control laboratory.• Adhere to ISO 9001 Quality Management and ISO 14001 Environmental Management systems.• Responsible for the design and quality control of multiple construction products; aggregates, asphalt, concrete, and recycled materials.• Provide internal and external commercial support including; project meetings, site visits, presentations, complaint investigations, and alternative construction solutions.• Coordinate test frequencies in accordance with British and European standards.• Ensure operational systems are adhered to in accordance with quality control procedures. Monitor and assist operations to achieve product conformity. • Optimise material constituents to maintain product conformity, improve performance, and reduce cost.• Re-design products to utilise quarry “unvalued” stocks facilitating operational efficiencies.• Design new products such as self-compacting concrete and cement bound granular material.• Develop and monitor quality controls systems for external constituent sources.

• Responsible for the technical development of Tarmac’s proprietary high performance concretes for ready-mix and precast applications.• Provide technical and operational support to Tarmac’s business (e.g. project specific laboratory trials, production trials, live contracts, and complaint management).• Vet high risk/profile concrete specifications to assess the companies potential financial exposure and technical resources required to execute.• Deliver internal and external training in relation to concrete products. Provide assistance to marketing team at exhibitions/ seminars and generate content for technical datasheets.• Manage British Board Agrément approval process for a range of high strength concretes (Toproc).• Write technical reports for internal product development and external research projects.

• Construction materials analysis in accordance with British and European test methods.• Organise test schedules for the aggregates, asphalt, concrete, and soils laboratories.• Provide training and development of junior technicians.• Adhere to ISO 17025 Quality Management and ISO 14001 Environmental Management systems.
