Work with companies to find and optimize their projects

• Lead the Drill and Blast Operational Excellent program developing projects worth $4 million in savings per year to the mine• Work with geotechnical engineers to stop or reduce wall instabilities• Wrote AFE’s for the purchase of equipment and infrastructure across the mine• Created new equipment replacement modules for use in life of mine work• Created pit expansions as well as short term pit optimizations proven by financial evaluation

• Brought 40,000 copper tons forward in mine life by the removal of step outs in pit• Redesigned main pit dumps to add 130 million tons of capacity to meet life of mine needs• Improved cash flow by $25 million dollars over next two years by creating new connections in ore sectors of the pit.• Decrease haul truck slow down at intersections by 1.2 miles/hour and increase safety by standardizing haul road intersections• Presented detonator data, reviewed, and gave recommendations for explosive contract negotiations for all North America Rio Tinto sites• Coached and mentored nine short range and four mid range planners

• Implemented HANFO at KUC through the Blast Optimization Team, allowing for increased drill pattern size that reduced drilling cost by $0.029/ton or $7.4 million annually• Integral member of project team to move conveyer belt tunnel on an optimized time line by blasting within 15ft of active conveyor tunnel and blasting within 25ft of active pit crusher• Performed signature hole analysis for sensitive wall control blasting that stopped blast-induced wall movement that preserved 500K tons of copper • Started frequency control wall blasting practices at KUC• Fill in blast and drill foramen

• Created preliminary designs prior to Manefay failure to communicate risk to management• Designed all slope mitigations, access points, and remote equipment approaches after Manefay failure that reduce head scarp remediation by four months• Re-designed ore sectors in lower pit to balance Manefay waste removal with ore extraction to secure a steady cash flow during remediation for 2013 and 2014

• Reduce the amount of material that had to be mined from outside the ultimate pit boundary by 15 million tons by changing pit entrance• Created new waste dump access designs to shorten haul cycle by three minutes

Quality Engineer• Design and implement quality programs at the mine. Track and report all quality incidents. Oversee Root Cause Analysis on quality incidents. Help perform quality audits at other Kiewit mines.Scheduler• Responsible for coordinating projects that are in the short term schedule. Verify the quality of the Pit Engineer’s designs and incorporate them into the long term schedule. Create the yearly budget schedule. Design all production contractor work and mange the contractors on site.Month End Engineer• Manage the correction and entering of equipment time cards. Responsible for verifying and tracking all quantities and equipment hours for the mine. Create month end financial reports which are used for evaluation of production. Pit Engineer• Oversee and implement the cut designs for one of the mine’s pits, including: dragline, dozers, truck/shovel and drill/blast. Designed and supervised the construction of a mile and half haul road extension and ready line, to be used for the life of the pit. Oversaw the construction of two sediment control ponds. Train new pit engineers.
