I have a wide range of experience in dealing with property, and commercial and property disputes. I aim to provide strategic advice / solutions, rather than bookish answers.This often involves identifying ways around problems - strategies and solutions to achieving clients’ objectives. I am also frequently involved in coordinating property and commercial transactions.Alongside general commercial disputes, I specialise in property litigation and related development and professional negligence disputes. I have advised both landlords and tenants in lease renewals, alienation/assignment, disrepair and dilapidation, service charge and break notice disputes as well as rent reviews. This includes a significant amount of transaction coordination / support.I have dealt with general property and title issues ranges from easements, restrictive covenants and boundary issues to property management work. In terms of my professional negligence experience, this includes resolving problems regarding negligent surveys and legal advice, including environmental contamination.I have also acted for a number of charities, particularly religious organisations. As an active member of my local church, I have a greater understanding of the dynamics of such organisations. As my father was a church minister, I have always taken a keen interest in helping churches achieve their objectives (which are often counter-cultural). I am also keen for such organisations to never be underestimated, or treated as a “soft touch”.I have also acted in a variety of general commercial disputes, including joint venture and shareholder disputes and acting for and against various financial institutions. This includes disputes involving insurance and banking products. Finally, I have also acted in a number of multi-million pound insolvency-related disputes, including acting for and against creditors, administrators and liquidators.
