Millersburg- Wah Chang

Oversee the daily activities of all work on an assigned shift in the Melting department at Wah-Chang. Manage staffing levels in three different departments to ensure that all employees work in a safe manner, production goals are met, quality is maintained, and the operation is efficient. Other responsibilities include: leading daily safety huddles and stretch/flex prior to every shift, work with the safety department to reduce hazards and make department safer, perform production planning and scheduling for recycle/press/fab/furnaces within the melt shop, work with other departments and/or vendors to get objectives completed as a means to maintain production goals, measure and trend improvements, maintaining Daily Schedule Control, scheduling of workforce as well as workforce training and development. Facilitate Task Standardization Processes and train employees regarding the benefits of developing best practices/standards within the melt shop. Establish systems for production management by utilizing innovation

Albany Operations

Function independently on an off shift and as such, oversee the daily activities of all work in the Melting department for my employees at ATI Albany Operations. Ensure that all employees work in a safe manner, production goals are met, quality is maintained, and the operation is efficient. Process owner of Fabrication Risk Abatement team which reduced injuries while also increasing efficiencies. Creator of the Crane boards and Industrial Mobile Equipment boards (visual daily control for inspection) to define the companies best standard. Apply Leadership skills to lead, motivate and develop teams. Identify, plan and lead improvement events utilizing the newest in lean manufacturing concepts. Write new and correct existing documents to reflect current work practicesWorking with lean tools such as Value Stream Mapping, 5S, 5 Why’s (PSR), Ishikawa diagrams, and Kaizen events- trained both supervisors and employees in these tools. Worked exclusively as the Continuous Improvement Representative for the Melting department working with lean tools such as Value Stream Mapping, facilitate 5S events and train employees regarding the benefits of an organized work space, perform process flow analysis, lead and participated in Kiazen events, and created Daily Schedule Control forms for areas within the melt shop. Monitor processes and tasks in order to identify problems and improvement opportunities.

Lead safety processes to sustain a strong safety record. Implement and coordinate departmental safety processes and education to ensure a safe work environment. Active involvement in the development of associates through training, coaching and regular performance evaluations as well as feedback regarding on-the-job behavior, integrity, fairness, and positive work attitudes. Plan and coordinate crews and equipment to ensure lowest cost, best quality and greatest return on assets. Identify areas where safety, quality, and productivity issues could arise, take measures to pro-actively address any concerns. Ensure compliance with all applicable Weyerhaeuser, federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Facilitate crew meetings and trainings as needed.
