- Over 25 Years experience in the design and application of control systems to the manufacturing industry.-Experience in maintenance of manufacturing systems from 415V power systems to low voltage control systems.-Use of risk assessments and safe working practices during design build and installation of machines. This includes the use of Permits to Work.-Extensive experience in the application of control systems including PLC’s, HMI’s, Industrial Network Systems and Network Safety Systems.-Extensive experience in the application of safety related control systems including safety relays, emergency stops, light curtains, safe edges, door access systems and key exchange systems-Design assessment of control systems including risk assessments, implementation, testing, maintenance and modification.-Production of appropriate technical documentation to allow machines to be CE Marked.-Provide training and instruction in relation to safe usage to machines and systems.-Excellent IT skills having installed and set up all of the company PC’s, servers and their associated software for the last 15 years-Experience in lecturing and presentation (Newcastle Polytechnic)-Experience of presenting at conferences (ASI Tech Conference)-Production of company internal standards and project procedures-Working to Machinery Safety Directive -Programming PLC’s To IEC Standards (e.g. IEC 1131)-Using 16th Edition Wiring Regulations-Ensuring a quality of work that enables appropriate technical files to be produced for CE Marking of machines.
