3DR Architects Ltd was founded in 2010 by Jonathan Hughes, the Director and sole practitioner of the Company. Since the Company was started over 200 extensions and numerous individual houses have been completed, or are at varying stages of development. Jonathan Hughes is a fully qualified RIBA registered Architect with over 20 years post qualification experience. Jonathan has worked on a number of different types of projects throughout his career, including:• Sporting facilities• Care homes• Various large and small scale residential and commercial projects.DESIGNThe role of an architect in a design project is as an enabler. This way a client, with the help of their architect can project their own personality onto the spaces that are created. In a building project this can manifest itself in many different forms:- • In terms of the layout it is configuring the spaces in not just the most efficient way but also the most impactful. For instance, this may mean introducing single story elements with high ceilings and roof lights for the most important rooms.• For the style it is designing projects that are specific to a clients tastes. This may mean designing a project that is either ‘modern’, or ‘traditional’, or a variation, or combination of both.• Realising the full impact of a building project is achieved by using high quality materials and architectural details that enhance and add character to a building project.• And finally to achieve the desired results contract administration and a 3d model are a vital part of the process. This is the point at which a 2d design transforms into a 3d design, which is translated through oversight of a builder into reality.
