About Jonathan Hull

I work as a user experience and design consultant primarily focusing on Apple and iOS. Design is much more than a job to me, it is who I am. When I was 15, I accidentally found a book on Human-Computer Interaction (which I thought would help me to program user interfaces), and I discovered that there was a job which was "just the fun part" of creating computer programs. From that moment on, I was in love! (I even tracked down most of the original Mac team and pestered them with questions about how and why they made decisions.)Though I prefer to work on Apple platforms, I do design work for any medium (e.g. web, physical devices, tactile interfaces, etc...). I have a master's degree in Human Factors (i.e. design + cognitive psychology) which lets me bring a scientific approach to any design problem. I also occasionally work as a programmer for Apple platforms. I started making little programs (mostly for myself) when I was 6 and haven't stopped. I have been programming for Mac OS X since 1999, and iOS since day 1. I am adept at the latest version of Swift (and active in the community which guides its development). If you need a custom control or other user interface made, that is my specialty, as it lets me use my design and programming skills together. Because of my experience, companies have also often hired me to take a few hours to unstick their iOS team when they have hit a tough problem. In addition to my design degree, I have a degree in mathematics, and I am fully comfortable with arbitrarily complex systems (and I love the challenge of taming them behind simple and easy to use interfaces)
