I am writing a history of the international nuclear nonproliferation regime entitled, "Power and Prohibition: The Making of the Nuclear Nonproliferation Regime, 1953-1970." It argues that cataclysmic and utopian visions of nuclear science & technology and the flux of geopolitics during the middle Cold War were formalized into an imperfect set of international laws, rules, and institutions controlling nuclear weapons while promoting other sensitive forms of nuclear technology.Other projects include an article of U.S. food diplomacy to India during the 1966-1968 famine; a diplomatic history of the Free Tibet movement; and an international history of the Soviet-Afghan War.
