One of the first employees hired by Lendlease Digital, a now 200-strong division that is dedicated to bringing the construction industry fully into the digital age, I have played a key role in formulating a vision for a sustainable future for the construction industry. Providing strategic and technical leadership in the delivery of digital design solutions, I am responsible for leading a team of 58 working across four continents to design and deliver game changing solutions to industry issues for some of our largest clients. In all ventures, I work internally with senior leadership on urban development projects, and externally with global construction companies and suppliers.

Developed the hypothesis, architecture and guided development and implementation of the Contextual Universal Building System or CUBS - a System of Systems approach to AECO project-to-product integration. CUBS is a collection of processes, logic, parts, and connections. Together, this forms a holistic building solution incorporating real systems and products in the market. These Systems responds to specified criteria and deliver back a detailed building solution including structure, space, mechanics and enclosures, in compliance with geometrical, regulatory and performance constraints. CUBS enables true mass customization on projects that allows freedom of expression and application of a design language.

In 2015, I co-founded Studio Workshop, design studio and fabrication workshop utilising expertise in robotic fabrication, modular assembly, flat-pack and pre-fabricated construction strategies to deliver bespoke projects. Bringing my computational design and digital fabrication expertise into the mix, I managed a broad portfolio of responsibilities, including product development, office set-up, recruitment and financial management; working equally ‘in the business’ and ‘on the business’ Equal parts design studio and fabrication workshop, we used advanced design to create awe-inspiring and award-winning homes spanning Australia and Papua New Guinea.

During this period. I taught Computation Design and Digital Fabrication full-time while completing my Masters in Construction Practice. As a professor at the new School of Architecture, I developed the entire curriculum for the digital studies components of the undergrad and postgrad programmes. I also served on a number of university service committees and oversaw the creation of the fabrication Laboratory. Winning numerous research grants, I was published in 16 academic journals and was instrumental in the school obtaining and maintaining accreditation.
