Associate Chief Counsel - Firearms And Explosives Law Division
CurrentManage a division of FELD attorneys. This includes managing FELD attorney legal review processes and priorities to provide timely, accurate, and thorough authoritative legal advice and opinions; and manage training on firearms and explosives laws and regulations to ATF and Department of Justice personnel, and the public.Ensure the Division provides legal advice to ATF personnel, the Department of Justice, and the public under the Gun Control Act, National Firearms Act, Arms Export Control Act, and explosives laws and regulations. This includes matters involving firearms and explosives classifications, analysis of implementing firearms and explosives regulations, ATF public guidance or responses, and federal rulemakings.Serve as primary point of contact for significant firearms and explosives inquiries to the Office of Chief Counsel.Provides specialized advice to other Divisions within the Office of Chief Counsel including the Litigation Division, General Law and Information Division, and Field Regions to assist it in interpreting and applying the Federal firearms and explosives laws and assists in matters involving criminal and regulatory enforcement, and in the preparation, litigation, and appeal of matters involving Federal firearms or explosives laws.Advise the Chief Counsel and Deputy Chief Counsel on federal firearms and explosives laws in preparation for briefing the Office of the Director or ATF front office to inform decisions on the enforcement of firearms and explosives laws.
