  • Bosham Catering
    Self Employed
    Bosham Catering Sep 2019 - May 2023
    Chichester, England, United Kingdom
In September 2019 I decided to go back into catering. I had a few bookings to get me going but by November I’d secured a new catering contract at Chichester Rugby Club and from working alongside them and the venue, we generated over 120k in future bookings. However in February 21 I lost all of this business due to Covid. I then had to think on my feet as I qualified for no grants or benefits. I started a fresh food delivery business using social media to promote this, I averaged 35 drops a day with an average spend of £25 per drop. I then continued with various activities to get myself through until 2021 when in March I secured a new catering contract at the Prestigious Arundel Castle Cricket Club. Here I managed all aspects of their events (45 over 6 months) including the delivery of high quality food for functions of up to 350 covers. I organised set up and staffing for all of these events as well. The money I made from this enabled me to self fund The West Street Deli Opening.

    Chichester, England, United Kingdom
In January 2014 I set up Jigsaw Catering on a part time basis eventually going full time in October 2014. When I did this, I built & launched a new website and Jigsaw went from strength to strength increasing the turnover from £20,000 to £75,000 + in 12 just months. By 2017 I was averaging around 50 events a year with around 30 of these being weddings and employed a part time team of 15 staff to help run multiple events each week. As well as working and managing multiple functions & events I also ran the sales & marketing side of the business (see, generating consistent numbers of bookings throughout each year of business. I would arrange face to face meetings with potential clients and had a 80% close rate from initial meeting to confirmed booking. In October 2017 I made the decision to sell Jigsaw Catering following interest from two parties and this enabled me to take some time out with the family. I had great success with Jigsaw turning it from a small 10k a year side-line to a 100k plus a year business and building it to a point where one of my much larger competitors brought me out. I now wish to go back into employment and I'm open to new opportunities.
