Communications and Projects Officer at a media and training organisation, which works to promote the rights and freedoms - and to challenge barriers to these - of the Palestinian Community in Israel. This included research and analysis of news and current affairs across local communities; attending and reporting on training events and educational workshops; writing stories and articles on social and political changes in the country; maintaining and updating the website; and taking a lead role in developing, writing and editing project proposals and grant applications for fundraising. I also condensed collated information on national human rights events, campaigns, and our own work for a monthly newsletter.

Fundraising for a wide range of international development organisations attached to the Card Aid scheme. I ran a small store in Cambridge city centre where I was responsible for all aspects of the project, including making sales and interacting daily with customers, managing the finances, handling stock and deliveries, and overseeing volunteers.

Acted as the focal point of communications between our busy team and a range of stakeholders. This included writing regular newsletters and blogs to keep internal staff members up to date with our work; maintaining our secure social network website for the young people we worked with, and using it to share clear information regarding relevant news, campaigns, and upcoming events; and liaising with external supporters and partners to set up events and plan workshops. I also wrote project briefs and reports, assisted with staff interviews, contributed to national campaign strategy, and represented the organisation at external events.

I helped to devise, plan, support and review events for young people across the UK involved with ChildLine and the NSPCC. We did this to help them build their confidence, meet other young people, and have access to both fun and educational opportunities. This included writing event briefs, coming up with competition ideas, keeping the young people up to date with upcoming events and opportunities through our website, and contacting external partners for their support with these events. I also assisted with more administrative tasks when required, including taking minutes at meetings, and managing and digitalising files.
