I have been conducting my PhD research on Interpretability in NLProc (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam) in collaboration with Moonlit (Deloitte Tax & Legal), contributing to the development of a state-of-the-art legal research SaaS product (see https://www.moonlit.ai).Moonlit's objective is to make legal information (e.g. case law, legislation and regulations, etc.) more accessible and transparent. The focus is on bringing together a large multilingual selection of legal information and improving the search and analysis process. We do the latter through smart search algorithms, search suggestions, data enrichment, visualisations using the latest natural language processing tools.

Research Intern at Utrecht Institute of Linguistics (UiL OTS).During the internship, I implemented in Python an unsupervised clustering design to automatically retrieve verb senses from a section (52 million tokens) of the British National Corpus (BNC). The original data was first parsed according to Combinatory Categorial Grammar (CCG), so that lexical elements within specific grammatical relations could be extracted and used to form the feature vectors. The results were evaluated against VerbNet labels, based on Levin (1993)'s linguistic theory on diathesis alternations and argument structure.Fields: Computational Linguistics, Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, Syntax-Semantics interface, Distributional Models.
