Technical leader for team of 8 developers building an open-source, Java-based toolkit for 3D virtual worlds. Responsible for overall software architecture, with a focus on client-server communication, scalability and security. • Led the technical team in delivering 4 major releases of the Wonderland toolkit to open source community and customers. • Designed and developed infrastructure for Wonderland server and web-based management, resulting in significant improvements to extensibility, scalability, and user experience of the Wonderland platform. • Provided developer and community support through documentation, forums and direct interaction, leading to the creation of a sustainable open source community. • Presented frequently at conferences and to customers.

Technical lead for a series of research projects to improve the usability of distributed meetings. • Developed prototype of a web based conference calling application using SIP Servlets and Google Web Toolkit. Presented demo of Conference Manager and technical session on SIP Servlets at JavaONE 2007. • Led team of 4 engineers plus additional contractors and interns in development of Sun Labs Meeting Suite, a novel Java-based user interface for distributed meetings, which was used internally at Sun by more than 1,000 users for a period of 4 years. • As a researcher in Sun Labs, participated in design, execution and analysis of user studies on collaboration prototypes. Published results in 2 full conference papers and 3 short papers.

Designed and lead development of multi-tier system management solution for high-volume server lines. • Coordinated effort across multiple software development groups, quality assurance, documentation and localization, leading to on-time deliveries to ship with each of 5 new hardware platforms. • Contributed to design and implemention of innovative system management roadmap for first generation blade servers. • Selected for Engineering Best-of-the-Best, a program of mentorship and customer interaction.

Co-author of book on Java enterprise design patterns, focused on presentation-tier technologies like JSP and Servlets, as well as business-tier technologies such as EJBs.
