As a mechanical maintenance technician I am responsible for installing and upgrading new machines and equipment, making mechanical/pneumatic/hydraulic repairs, and handling any and all maintenance issues that occur for the entire plant. Forklift and heavy equipment certified. Regular use of machine shop for repairs and fabrication which includes the operation of drill press, bandsaw, hydraulic press, welding, and lathe work.

Making precision and prototype optics for a wide range of customers from DOD contractors, to aerospace company’s, and NASA. Ran a CNC machine and used the MasterCam design program, used multiple lathes and opti-tech equipment, and made use of the machine shop all on a daily basis. Became comfortable working with extremely tight tolerances, fragile materials, and a wide range of machines and techniques to consistently deliver high quality precision optics.

As a team leader, I had to lead and direct my team through all types of challenging situations and environments, and always be ready for any situation that presented itself. During my time I served a temporary duty on the security team for my area of the base, was an infantry Fireteam Leader, and after being promoted to Non Commissioned Officer I was placed in charge of the company armory cage where I received a certificate of commendation after redoing the files and database for the entire companies weapons systems, earning my company a 100% score on their audit. I was directly responsible for the accountability, condition, and storage of roughly $1.3B of military equipment.
