-Manages the Safety program at both the plant and complex levels. Plant has 1700 employees. The complex level has 5 farms, full feed production mill, service center (tractor and trailer shop) and hatchery.-Conducts all orientation training for new hires and monthly safety on many different topics.-Conducts all HAZMAT training for a 25 employee in house HAZMAT team. This would include; Incident Command, Respiratory, GHS, HAZMAT operation, decontamination, setting up decon and rescue, confined space entry and rescue. Also, led the wa for corporation with LEPC for two counties for HAZMAT drills and operation. SCBA training and all levels of PPE from Level D to Level A.-Built and trained the incipient fire force -Auditing other facilities for safety and environmental compliance.-Work with production on a variety of different ways to bring our recordable rate down from where it was a year before I got there by 50 percent.-Accident investigation for injuries in the facility as well for train derailments and chemical releases.-All air monitoring testing for different chemicals that we have onsite: Hydrogen Peroxide, PPA, Aceitic Acid, Sulfuric Acid.-Auditing the plant for deficiencies with the equipment on all the lines.-LOTO audits on all of the equipment that hadn’t been completed in several years.-Manage and train all equipment operators, as well as keep up with training documentation-Continuous Improvement projects for Safety.-Work hand in hand with the PSM coordinator and to see that the plant is in compliance with all OSHA safety regulations concerning proper training for new chemicals, updating the MSDS program (HAZCOM) to the new SDS standards, submit all required chemical information to the local LEPC to conform to the standards set up by the federal government.-Creating Safety Committee and having them empowered to function correctly.-Work with USDA and FSIS on any safety concerns they have with the facility and complex level

This was the first position for Mountaire that I was hired to do. Once I did this for a year they asked that I take a brand new plant in Siler City NC.

-Creation and implementation of Fire Protection Plan through out all of our 5 locations on the East Coast.-Manage Large Scale Project as Project Manager/Engineer FMC Lithium Division.-Conduct initial new training for OSHA laws, HAZWHOPPER 40 hour, 8 hour refresher, CSE, CSR, Incident Command, ERG etc.-Create many new training modules for both Safety and HAZMAT related topics (donning and doffing, Silica, Suspension Trauma, Suspended Worker Rescue, Incident Command (facility and in the field)-Working with LEPC was able to identify several training offered by the government to send our supervisors to (free)-Update and create programs as needed, as well as yearly reviews of all current programs as required by OSHA.-Built a new Safety Committee using supervisors and men from the field instead of corporate officers-Maintained all work comp paperwork and required OSHA paperwork for proper compliance.-Creation of jobsite and job specific auditing-Maintain a Drug Fee workplace through proper random drug testing weekly and new hire drug testing programs.-Train Emergency response teams to work with local, state, and federal goverments for large spills -Worked with Duke Energy for planning the Dan River clean up project from releases from coal ash ponds

-Manage a 9 team member safety team including; Security, Works Comp, Safety Supervisor, Process Safety Management, 40 team member HAZMAT team, and Occupational Health and Safety team (4 certified EMTs)-Conduct daily and weekly audits on the production floor to identify unsafe conditions and working with the production Supervisors and Management staff to fix any unsafe conditions found.-Conduct initial new training for OSHA laws, HAZCOM, First Aid, Security, HAZMAT, PSM and any other safety related information that my team deemed needed.-Work hand in hand with the PSM coordinator and to see that the plant is in compliance with all OSHA safety regulations concerning proper training for new chemicals, updating the MSDS program (HAZCOM) to the new SDS standards, submit all required chemical information to the local LEPC to conform to the standards set up by the federal government.-Identify any new policies that need to be made and changes to current policies to maintain compliance with federal and local governments.-Update and create programs as needed, as well as yearly reviews of all current programs as required by OSHA.-Managed a 4 team member audit team that have all been 14001 audit certified to audit our other plants to see that they conform to the polices the company has so we could maintain our ISO 14001 certification as well as audit for Landfill Free to maintain that title for the company as well.-Identify trainings offered by the federal government through the LEPC and FEMA and send my team members to the best schools for the correct training as applied to their positions.-Maintained all work comp paperwork and required OSHA paperwork for proper compliance.-Began the process to take the safety program to the point that we would be ready for ISO 18001 (Safety Audit).-Maintain a Drug Fee workplace through proper random drug testing weekly and new hire drug testing programs.

Project Duties:- Coordination of all HSE related issues concerning a 30 man team for the steel erection, roof installation, and wall installation.- Facilitation of new hire drug screening and training- Attending required client safety meetings as well as Site Coordination meetings with client and GC- Implementation of General Contractor’s Heart program as well as Owners JSA program.- Injury Case Management- Record keeping of daily/weekly audits, employee training and monthly reporting to corporate offices in Burlington NC- Responsible for the creation of the Site Specific Safety Plan.- Complete update of MarKim’s current Safety Program as well as, writing new protocols for new programs within the company( Suspended Worker Rescue, Suspension Trauma Treatment, and new GHS standards{in progress})- Change order management - All incoming material audits and reporting of shortages- Conducted weekly tool box talks- Implementation of random drug screening as well as spot tests as needed- All weekly paperwork related to the job including: Timesheets, Safety Audits, Onsite Delay, Equipment Reports, Employee Audits etc.- Filing for Notice to Proceed as needed- Acting CM for the last third of the job as needed to finish project- LO/TO procedure

Project Duties:- Attending required client safety meetings- Implementation of General Contractor’s Safety Program as well as MarKim Erection resulting in no recordable injuries for the entire job- Injury Case Management- Record keeping of daily/weekly audits, employee training and monthly reporting to corporate offices Burlington NC- MarKim Erection Co introduction to safety and required training- Safety Oversight for 105 Direct hires and subcontractors- Required paperwork, drug testing, and interview process for hew hires- Communication with all of our vendors supplying material for the job- Resolution of detail problems with in the prints- Writing details for solutions to problems to be passed on to the Engineer- Implementation of random drug screening as well as spot tests as needed- All weekly paperwork related to the job including: Timesheets, Safety Audits, Onsite Delay, Equipment Reports, Employee Audits etc.- Inspection of Elaminator weekly and full inspection of all moving parts monthly- LO/TO procedure

-Hands on work that was not gave to a Sub-Contractor. -Coordination with the Superintendent to make sure Subs did the work as stated in the contract gave to them.- Safety compliance with OSHA for all Sub-Contractors on the job under us.Attending required client safety meetings.-Implementation of General Contractor’s Safety Program.-Injury Case Management-Inspection of equipment-Equipment operator-Composing punch list through the project as well as final punch lists on exit.-Grading as needed.-Installing trim-Laying out interior walls and unit pads-Framing walls and forming for concrete as needed-

-Set up and organized traffic control for large state funded paving projects.-Making plans for the work day for proper traffic control procedures based on the route the paving crew used for equipment mobilization and paving operation.-Conducted monthly drug testing company wide lottery.-Weekly toolbox talks with paving and traffic control crews.-Interacting with the public under high stress conditions-Equipment operation including: rollers, graders,bobcats, front-end loaders etc.
