The complex level has 5 farms, full feed production mill, service center (tractor and trailer shop) and hatchery.-Conducts all orientation training for new hires and monthly safety on many different topics.-Conducts all HAZMAT training for a 25 employee in house HAZMAT team. This would include; Incident Command, Respiratory, GHS, HAZMAT operation, decontamination, setting up decon and rescue, confined space entry and rescue. Also, led the wa for corporation with LEPC for two counties for HAZMAT drills and operation. SCBA training and all levels of PPE from Level D to Level A.-Built and trained the incipient fire force -Auditing other facilities for safety and environmental compliance.-Work with production on a variety of different ways to bring our recordable rate down from where it was a year before I got there by 50 percent.-Accident investigation for injuries in the facility as well for train derailments and chemical releases.-All air monitoring testing for different chemicals that we have onsite: Hydrogen Peroxide, PPA, Aceitic Acid, Sulfuric Acid.-Auditing the plant for deficiencies with the equipment on all the lines.-LOTO audits on all of the equipment that hadn’t been completed in several years.-Manage and train all equipment operators, as well as keep up with training documentation-Continuous Improvement projects for Safety.-Work hand in hand with the PSM coordinator and to see that the plant is in compliance with all OSHA safety regulations concerning proper training for new chemicals, updating the MSDS program (HAZCOM) to the new SDS standards, submit all required chemical information to the local LEPC to conform to the standards set up by the federal government.-Creating Safety Committee and having them empowered to function correctly.-Work with USDA and FSIS on any safety concerns they have with the facility and complex level
