I Drive part time for Ups ltd . duties include loading and operating forklift and conveyor sorting equipment. Handling cash and Scanner systems and also meeting clients and providing them with a service they can rely and depend on . I got to travel throughout ireland in this role and built up a strong relationship with customers especially in the commercial sector . not to mention restaurants and hotels to which dependent on our service to deliver.

My role within the company was varied ,but an enjoyable experience, I would transport everything from delivering manpower, materials and also erecting and deconstructing Marquees for private and commercial events through out Ireland . Heavy lifting equipment and machinery was a key part to keeping day to day tasks up to date and running smoothly and my skills i have learned along the way meant maintenance was never going to be an issue also getting to be part of a team was rewarding in itself.

Having this knowledge I was able to work my way up the line , and acquiring a multitude of machinery tickets including Roller,6ton dumper,360 track machine and the At40s dumpers that lead to further strenghten my skillset .

I was Employed to carry out major Renonvation work and fitiment of the Function room at the establishment, and a brand new state of the art pharmacy on behalf of the owner and friend Charlie Chawke . My Roles and duties varied, but the bulk of them where carpentry, painting ,tiling ,and blocklaying and plastering. .

Stable staff duties include all the routine but essential tasks around the yard such as mucking out stables, cleaning tack, Property maintenance, Grooming and Riding thoroughbred racehorses. The attractions of the job was very appealing , working in the open air and stunning countryside, caring for a potential champion horses, travelling, meeting owners and appearing on television leading a winning horse into the winner’s enclosure on race nights . , I also often assisted in the transport to and from race meetings and being responsible for the horses and all necessary equipment, racing colours, horse passports etc. taking responsibility for feeding and overall welfare of the travelling horses, Along with supervising the horses Once at the races, I would help declare the horses, saddle up, relay a jockey’s instructions and take care of owners needs . On non-racing days I worked alongside other stable staff, riding out and performing yard duties as long as trying to learn all I could . This is a position that required alot of responsibility, reliability and flexibility to ensure the smooth day-to-day running, Duties included feeding, checking horses for injury or illness, administering treatment if necessary, recognising when equine care is needed . I had to be able to cope with pressure and tight schedules, and communicate with fellow work colleagues and have the ability to act calmly if an emergency occurred as I was trained in first aid ,risk assessment and the safety of my fellow work colleagues during my shift . seeing the results from working as a team gave me great motivation. I felt great satisfaction from fulfilling such a vital role in the yard and on the track. it was great to be a team player and part of a sport and culture that is enjoyable and feel privileged to be a part of it .
