⦁ Originally hired as an Sr. Linux Administrator, my duties included maintaining all Linux servers, uptime of all websites, and administration and maintenance on server hardware, SAN’s, NAS’s, and all related software.⦁ Functioned as the sole administrator and while in this position, changed out hardware at our colocation for newer hardware, upgraded the ESXI OS, licenses, and vCenter software.⦁ Using technologies such as Memcached we were able to bring the website load times down by 12 seconds.⦁ Worked with developers to reduce error rates from 90% to under 0.5%⦁ Created one-button push deployment for the development team.⦁ De-cluttered the existing VM’s. Right-sizing them to meet the company needs.⦁ Created Ansible servers to assist with configuration and deployment.⦁ 24x7x365 sole monitoring.⦁ Additional big projects included migrating services to AWS, and eventually moving the colocation to a third-party cloud vendor. Once that project had been completed, KSE transferred myself from Georgia to Colorado⦁ Created and implemented logging solutions for better error tracking using GrayLog.⦁ Began work with the sports analytics department. This project included setting up many AWS services to provide database, storage, and compute for large data number crunching. ⦁ Took the SA project from demo, to department production, to company production using all FOSS software and AWS services. ⦁ Created a high availability on-prem bare-metal kubernetes cluster, and began moving company tools to it. CI/CD is being setup with Gitlab.⦁ Additional responsibilities have including working with the security department to help defend against the higher attack rates during covid.

A monitoring project became the second highest priority, providing full monitoring of all systems and services using the FOSS nagios.
