I am a senior at Monte Vista High School and I will be attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison this fall. I was voted into Monte Vista’s student government as rally chair, organizing and leading rallies with thousands in attendance. Additionally, I am the activities coordinator for a mentorship program called Science Alliance, where I have spent the last two years pairing high schoolers with 5th graders on science fair projects, as well as running activities to stimulate critical thinking skills, problem solving, and collaborative activities to encourage teamwork. I have also been an active member of Student Leaders Anti-Racism Movement (SLAM) for three years now, raising awareness and increasing attendance, while also taking the program to other school’s across the district. Outside of school, I am currently the senior lifeguard and pool manager at the Blackhawk Country Club, where I have also been a member of the swim program since 2013. This summer I plan to work as an intern for the number one real estate team in northern California, as well as managing Pool Side Pop ups for the aquatics department of Blackhawk, which is expected to generate five different scholarships for swimmers on the swim team.
