  • Buzz Social
    Co Owner
    Buzz Social Jun 2015 - Jan 2019
    Newcastle Upon Tyne, United Kingdom
I co founded 'Buzz Social' in June 2015. Social Media - until then was something I outsourced. With a bigger and bigger bill equating each much from the numerous companies we paid to have social media management, it seemed logical and was always the plan to set something up ourselves. We took care of all social media management across a range of platforms with a core focus on Uk based Estate Agents. We generate leads, market appraisals and put current listings in front of potential buyers through social media. Having worked with some great clients in the past including, Happy Socks, Deliveroo & Compare The Market - we made the decision to focus solely on Estate Agents after picking up several clients in a short amount of time within this space. We have taken everything we have learnt from working with these brands to catapult every Agent we work with to increase sale time, web traffic, market appraisals and winning instructions.

We now operate as an events company every night of the week apart from sunday. This is a huge leap from where we were last year. As a company we are always looking for innovative ideas that benefit both ourselves and our employees. Our club night ALICE has become the biggest electro swing night in the country and is now in digital which was voted best large club in the country in 2010 (DJMag). It has since been referred to the 'Fabric of the North'. With continued effort and a valued team, we are constantly looking to expand our network, value and customer satisfaction through the student nightclub industry in Newcastle.
  • Uni-X Events
    City Manager
    Uni-X Events Sep 2010 - May 2011
    Newcastle Upon Tyne, United Kingdom
I was appointed city manager of arguably Newcastle's largest student events company Uni-X events.Upon appointment Uni-X had 3 student club nights a week. Which consisted of Eden mondays at Floritas, Deluge Wednesday at Legends and Vice City Fridays at Riverside. All of which were hugely successful across the year. With most of them averaging over 1000 students a night.I was then responsible for consolidating these nights and managing teams of student managers. For each night there were up to 4 event managers who were responsible for the promoting of the club nights, i was in charge of making sure they could promote each, to the best of there ability. I was also responsible for recruiting new staff and promoting good staff into event manager roles. I also added a new night to the events company called ALICE which started as a one off at the other rooms in digital which was an electro swing and fancy dress themed night. This was hugely successful and in the two shows held that summer. Both were sold out.I was also responsible for getting the contracts for the club, negotiating the best drinks deals, recruiting the right event managers, organising a promotional plan, sorting out flyer designs and posters, booking acts to perform and making sure it was a charismatic event. It was.We also had a monthly Uni-X Events magazine which was distributed to 10k students, where i sold advertising space to clients and formed relationships with people across the city offering them slots in the magazine at very good value for money. Which also involved some negotiating in order to get the best deal for everyone.
