I am a versatile software engineer with an extensive background in infrastructure development and automation, test software development, performance testing, emulation, data management, and monitoring. I have proven success in delivering major projects on schedule for extremely large scale services. At Google/Nest I worked on the backend micro services. I designed and built internal tools to accelerate Nest cloud service release velocity and improve developer productivity.I improved the release velocity by 2-3 times by creating tools and automation to optimize the end-to-end workflow, streamline validation processes, and synchronize the validation and release of legacy and modern infrastructure systems. Improvements produced large savings of developer time and resource costs, and greatly reduced the number of bugs reaching end users. When I was working at Microsoft I was the primary software development engineer in test in the Outlook.com protocols team. I created the test client infrastructure and emulation services for the new Exchange ActiveSync protocol, and handled performance testing as we ramped up from zero to hundreds of millions of active daily users. Later I worked on the Exchange Online mail system as Outlook.com accounts were migrated there, increasing the user base by a few orders of magnitude. I drove a project to optimize the log management system and eliminate redundancy, saving roughly $1 million annually in CPU and storage costs.I am currently seeking a new challenge to apply and expand my skills.
