VCOM earned Virtela a spot in InfoWorld’s Top 100 companies for 2002.Created a framework for web application development, allowing for rapid development and deployment of web applications, incorporating roles-based security, multilevel tabs, enhanced HTML forms, reporting, and plug-gable look-and-feel. The framework leverages AJAX, JSP, Servlets, XML, XSLT, SVG, and Filters, and facilitates a map-based interface with live updates and output to PDF, HTML, XML, CSV, iGoogle, and Yahoo! Widgets formats.Created JRTG, an SNMP Poller application to support Virtela’s Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) service, a finalist in the American Business Awards for Best New Product or Service. The Poller utilizes Java, SNMP, JDBC, and JMX, and is the world’s fastest and most efficient SNMP poller. JRTG is available on sourceforget.net. Designed, developed, tested, maintained, and enhanced all aspects of VirtelaView and VCOM. Designed and implemented critical enhancements to the Virtela Dialer Windows C++ application, including automatic phone book and software update, and local phone number look-up.Created a schema for OpenLDAP, supporting RADIUS authentication for VirtelaView, VPN Client and dial-up networking. The schema supports one-time passwords, password expiration, account locking, password complexity, and password history. Developed custom authentication plug-in for Siebel with ADS back-end.Served as mentor and trainer for Java, J2EE and C++ to peers, junior developers, and interns.

Designed and developed CORBA vendor-independent software layer for Interoperability server. The layered architecture isolated the server business logic from CORBA implementation details, and allowed the same server code to work under any BOA or POA-based ORBs. Designed and implemented Java Interoperability layer for communication with OneWorld via Java objects. Solution included code generator component in C++, and Connector API in Java.Created enhancements to the Java and CORBA Interoperability products, including versioning solution, and concept for a reusable GUID generator.Developed various prototypes for Interoperability between Palm hand-held computers and OneWorld using KVM, CDKJ (Conduit Development Kit for Java), and Web Clipping technology.
