I am the MD and co founder of Content Kings. We are an international production company with three divisions. We make TV, feature films and branded content and we have offices in London and Dubai and have a partner company in Beijing and North China. My background is that I’m an exec producer and a BAFTA nominated doc director with hundreds of hours of unscripted programming under my belt. Previous roles include Creative Director at Blue Ant Studios and Exec producer at Warner Brothers’ factual label Renegade. Some personal career highlights include my four part drama series for itv, Hatton Garden that I produced with Oscar nominated Jeff Pope. I made a Ross Kemp Armed Police series which required access to multiple police forces across the country and the critically-acclaimed Transformation Street which was full access to the patients and staff of a gender reassignment clinic, both for ITV; A CBBC doc series, School of Rock which was access to Andrew Lloyd Webber and The Really Useful Group. I have also made fact ent formats like the 10 part Used Car Wars for Dave,fact ent format Don't Tell The Bride and ITV2’s fact ent format, Evil Monkeys. I served in previous executive roles at ITV Studios as Head of Arts and Popular Culture where I built a slate from scratch and previous to that I was Executive Producer of The South Bank Show - the UK’s longest running arts documentary series. Career highlights when I was at itv include my landmark access series Broadmoor for ITV which took 5 years of negotiations, ministerial approval and a year to film. Tulisa: The Price of Fame for BBC3 and BBC1 which showed what it was like to be on the receiving end of a Fake Sheikh drug entrapment, Ewan McGregor: Cold Chain Mission for BBC2, Ronnie Corbett’s Comedy Britain for ITV, Mystery Map for itv and the BAFTA-nominated 28 Up South Africa for Al Jazeera and ITV. As a director on The South Bank Show I made some of its highest rated episodes including films with Kevin Spacey, John Lasseter/Pixar, Eric Clapton and a doc I’m particularly proud of about Nick Park and Aardman.I started my career as a researcher at BBC Radio 4 working on Start The Week and In Our Time. In my spare time I write true crime non fiction. My books include Hatton Garden which accompanied the itv drama series I made, the Sunday Times top 10 best seller ‘Inside Broadmoor’ which also got to number 1 across all categories on Audible, The Real Bodyguard and my new book is Monster Mansion: Inside HMP Wakefield which is out now.
