EXPERIENCE OVERVIEWAs an engineer at Southern California Edison, Mr. Lien has applied his experience in the field of energy efficiency as well as his technical expertise to support many of Southern California Edison’s programs: Statewide Calculated Program, Statewide Deemed Program, Statewide Retrocommissioning Program, Comprehensive HVAC Program, 3rd Party Implement Programs, California Advanced Homes Program, and Sustainable Communities Program. Responsibilities include/have included engineering analysis, regulatory compliance, budget oversight, program analytics, reporting, project/program management, program development, operational requirement development, program implementation, and stakeholder communications.As an analyst at ICF International, Mr. Lien has applied his educational background in physics and mathematics to projects in residential energy efficiency. Mr. Lien uses energy modeling to assist in the development of energy efficient methodologies and to inform policy and program design. Clients include utilities with demand management and energy efficiency programs, private builders seeking to increase the value and efficiency of their homes, companies selling energy efficient technologies, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Project work has also included maintaining and utilizing a proprietary modeling program to simulate energy consumption and environmental impacts of over 500,000 homes.As a senior energy analyst at Alternative Energy Systems, Mr. Lien worked with clients to deliver residential and non-residential Title 24 energy calculations while meeting client’s engineering or architectural needs. Mr. Lien also provided oversight to other energy analysts to ensure project schedules where met and client concerns were addressed in a timely fashion.
