Jonathan and his brother, Kelvin, grew up as children of a lawyer, Michael Lo, who was a reputable attorney serving the Southern California since 1981. He has since passed in 2021 and left his legacy with Jonathan and Kelvin. Today, the Lo brothers remain committed to providing top-quality legal advice and exceptional client service. Jonathan began working at his father’s law firm in 2006. After graduating from San Marino High School in 2004, Jonathan went to University of California, San Diego, where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics in 2009. While working at his father’s law firm, Jonathan attended Southwestern Law School and passed the bar exam in 2015. In 2017, Kelvin joined the firm, and the name of the firm changed to Lo & Lo LLP. Jonathan has been in the legal field for almost 20 years. Jonathan is married and has a daughter. During the subprime mortgage crises in 2007-2010, Jonathan gained extensive experience in debtor and creditor legal issues arising in bankruptcy (personal and corporate bankruptcy in chapter 7, 11, and 13 cases). Learning under the vast experience of his father, who started off as a general practitioner, Jonathan also learned in the areas of estate planning and probate, civil and business litigation, criminal law, corporate setup and disputes, and real estate transactions and disputes. ACCOMPLISHMENTS• Successfully completed thousands of bankruptcy petitions under Chapter 7 and 13 of the bankruptcy code, and many under Chapter 11• Obtained a unanimous jury verdict in favor of clients involving non-competition and breach of contract claims resulting in an award of significant monetary damages and injunctive relief• Successfully defended many non-dischargeability actions by creditors alleging fraud and willful malicious injury in bankruptcy cases • Successfully resolved many civil actions involving contractual disputes, real estate transactions, intellectual property violations, medical malpractice, personal injury, ADA claims, and fraud allegations. • Successfully negotiated large multimillion dollar real estate purchases and leases on favorable terms • Settled many probate and trust litigation cases• Obtained favorable settlements in bad faith denial of insurance coverage cases• Successfully litigated and resolved many real estate fraud cases• Settled a $2.5 million personal injury judgment against client for $150,000
