Passionate about leveraging technology to improve lives, I am an avid coder with a keen interest in the intersection of hardware and software. My journey in computer science began in the high school robotics club, where I served as the lead programmer, driving our team to become Division Champions at the 2019 VEX Robotics World Championship. In this role, I introduced innovative solutions in the club such as multithreading, PID control loops, and odometry.Transitioning into the software domain, I delved into web development, exploring full stack web applications, Electron applications, and various other frameworks. Eager to accelerate my learning, I participated in hackathons, and during the NUS Hack&Roll 2023, I successfully implemented the socket.io framework to develop the websocket backend for CAPSLOCK, a player-vs-player typing game. Securing the Top 8 award as a high school participant affirmed my dedication to software development. To gain insights into large-scale application development in tech companies, I pursued a software engineering internship with the Government Technology Agency's WOGAA team. During this experience, I focused on backend development in Node.js deployed on AWS, gaining exposure to the fundamentals of DevOps, including Infrastructure as Code solutions. My passion lies in creating projects that enhance efficiency and convenience. Currently, I devote my free time to developing applications that make a positive impact on lives, no matter how small. Notable contributions include being a maintainer for NUSMods (The official course planning platform for National University of Singapore) and serving as a the CAPT CSC Publicity Vice Director (Tech Development). I am driven by the belief that technology has the power to transform the way we live, and I am excited to continue contributing to meaningful projects that push the boundaries of innovation.
