About Jonathan Mackel

Motivation is central to learning. It always has been and remains a key element in the success any educational setting.Working with young people and colleagues is rewarding and seeing people grow is satisfying to witness but even more pleasing to be a part of.Being a teacher who has delivered at Primary and Secondary stages in subjects as diverse as Computing, English, Applications of Maths and Religious, Moral and Philosophical Studies has provided a wide range of experience of not only planning and resource building but a provided a deeper realisation of the need to be genuinely flexible, adaptable and willing to learn - attributes I encourage pupils to consider and adopt for themselves.Working with children in care, from a wide range of social, cultural and ethnic backgrounds, those with English as a second (or third) language and those with barriers to their learning means I have had the pleasure of seeing the world through a number of lenses. Having taught in various locations across Scotland and abroad in Russia has been an envigouring and enjoyable journey.
