I have been passionate about building and understanding how things work for my entire life, so the construction industry was the logical progression my youth led me to. I love learning about the mechanics of how the world works, and care deeply about improving the world and its people. After several internships, I accepted a position with Gilbane Building Company as a project engineer, and spent my first three years on the John Hopkins University Applied Physics Lab Systems Integration III building. I came on during the final two GMPs, cutting my teeth with the team on them, and was on the project for its entire, successful duration, managing concrete, misc metals, DFH, all of the finishes, and several specialties. The owner was very happy with the finished product, and I spent the next several months working on Day 2 scopes for the client. I have since moved on and am now working on the Howard Community College Math and Athletics project, a uniquely phased project that includes a full move in to half of the building while the other half is constructed. I am now managing the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, security, elevators, athletic equipment, and DFH trades, while also becoming more involved with team management, BIM, and the financials side of general contracting.I have also been the leader of the MD business unit's Gilbane Young Professional Employee Resource Group since February 2021. I facilitate internal and external networking, recruitment, retention, professional development, community engagement, and volunteer opportunities for the Maryland business unit's young professionals.With my own time, I am a passionate WVU Mountaineers and Baltimore sports fan, a big traveler, reader, dog dad, beer enthusiast, and am very involved with my church.
