I am currently the pastor of Midway and Chapel Hill United Methodist Churches in Reidsville, NC. I am so blessed to be able to be a pastor in a cross-racial appointment, where I serve one primarily white church and one primarily African American Church. Together, we are discovering what a joy it is to be embody the Beloved Community envisioned by Jesus Christ, who has opened the church to people of all ages, nations, and races. I have served as the chair of the District Committee on Ordained Ministry in the Salisbury, Greensboro, and now Northern Piedmont districts, having previously served on the Conference Board of Ordained Ministry for nine years before that (including four years as chair of the theology committee). I have been chair of the Board of Managers for the Duke Convocation and NC Pastors' School. I have participated in the Reynolds Leadership Program, the Duke Institute on Preaching, and the Duke Summer Institute on Reconciliation. I am also serving on the Western NC Annual Conference Task Force on Dismantling Racism, as well as the Annual Conference Petitions Committee. I am currently participating in the Bishop's Emerging Leadership Initiative. I am involved with the Beloved Community Center in Greensboro, where I join with pastors from different denominational and ethnic backgrounds to understand better our history and work towards a vision of healing, reconciliation, and flourishing for all the members of our community. I have had sermons published in the Biblical Preaching Journal, and I have been a theological mentor for over 20 divinity school students and candidates for ministry. I have taught the section on Theology and Doctrine for the Licensing School for Local Pastors in the Western NC Conference for nine years.
