I have 21 years in residential construction, where I have done everything from sweeping the warehouse floors, then managing warehouse, to outside sales. I have been in charge of buying, selling, and maintaining inventory levels. in 2011 I left construction and joined the airline industry where I was made supervisor in less than a year, then later promoted to a manager. At the airline I found out I enjoyed and was good at Data analysis. Here I maintained and tracked Crew metrics to see how they trended and show a bigger picture of our shortcomings. We were able to give over site to other groups and show how one group effected others. Our performance numbers increased drastically as a result of my groups collection of data. I have recently come back to construction as the industry is rebuilding itself. One of the most difficult things I had to learn as a manager was having people twice my age report to me. It takes a special person who can show they are not afraid to do the work themselves to which they are asking others to complete. I have many people who one time or another has reported to me and I can honestly say I don't believe one of them thinks badly of me, but rather has the utmost respect for me, as I do of them.
