I was immediately place on site on a 10 month, $5.5m contract to construct a year 7 block at Carine SHS including fire access road, car park extension and refurbishment of existing tennis/netball and basketball court.Responsibilities included,• All procurement including issuing scopes of works and managing budgets.• Site programming.• All liaising with the superintendents/consultant’s/Quantity Surveyor and client including RFI’s, shop drawings, variations, requests for approval, site instructions, EOT’s and contractual issues.• Working closely with site manager to control site safety including controlling high risk task registers, SWMS, relevant working permits, safety walks/audits.• Controlling all finances including client and subcontractor variations, progress claims, controlling cash flow, all costs forecasts to completion, reporting final forecasts to senior management. • Negotiating and agreeing all final accounts and handover documentation for both client and subcontractorsCarine SHS year 7 was an extremely detailed and architecturally challenging building. I have had detailed input to every aspect of the job from design queries which included an approved change in the roofing material to contractor disputes. Carine SHS was completed on 21/04/2014, within program time. -

Within Lagan I worked on several projects, Water pumping station and pipe line in Newry,Refurbishment and extension of a live waste water treatment works in Sion Mills,Installation of 5 miles of new sewage pipeline to allow for further development in Drumahoe, N.Ireland.On each of these jobs I worked under a senior quantity surveyor, keeping on site records, preparing valuations, agreeing sub contract measures, preparing cost reports, assisting with cost predictions. Initially, I worked very closely with my senior quantity surveyor, and as the year progressed and my confidence increased I took on more issues and made more on site, ad-hoc decisions myself.
