- Fulfil Second in Command duties as a pilot for the American Airlines Subsidiary, PSA Airlines. I was tasked to ensure compliance with Company and FAA procedures, directives, and regulations affecting the proposed flight. This would require strict adherence to time tables as departing one airport too early or late could result in there not being a gate to park at when landing as well as huge fines and missed connections for passengers. As pilots we were trained to quickly and effectively establish a team with the three other flight crew members that we most likely would only have contact with once every year or two due to company size and demands.

As a member of this team I focus on the school’s commercial applicants who for many this certificate would be the highest attained while at the university. I spent most my time ensuring that future graduates operate with decision making skills and safety ideology that coincides with the school’s mission statement. One of the more serious roles fulfilled was conducting evaluation flights to determine if students require a different instruction to complete their courses or if they should be guided into a different career. Furthermore, I was used consistently for running mock check rides for students.

For this role I would consistently have to go alone to a multitude of areas on campus to troubleshoot issues and find the quickest and cheapest solutions possible. These can range from simple issues such as virus detection and removal, to determining program and hardware malfunctions that require creative solutions.

Fault isolated and repaired failed circuits or cabling.
