I started my work with child development at UC Davis, working as a research assistant during my undergraduate work. It was here that I became impassioned with the stages of child development and significant processes that take place at such a young age. I was introduced to the diagnosis of Autism as I helped study the relationship between knowing an object's label and the development of cognitive skills in young 11-12 month old infants. I then began my professional work in the field of Autism and Applied Behavior Analysis in 2004 by working for a company that provides ABA based intervention services. I was fortunate enough to be successful as a 1:1 aide in the home and school settings and advance my career by becoming a case manager (or consultant). I progressed through the ranks and eventually became manager of a satellite branch where I supervised all levels of staff and acquired managerial skill sets. I then owned and operated the company Family First which provides services to families raising children and young adults with Autism and other developmental disabilities. After six years I switched careers to live closer to my family while I raise my three young children and now work as an Autism Clinical Care AnalystFor Health Net Federal Services ensuring our military members receive the highest quality of care for their child with Autism.
