As a Social Studies and Humanities teacher, I support recently arrived immigrant and refugee youth to adapt to life in the U.S. and succeed in their high school careers. I develop project-based learning US History units, emphasizing helping students complete their graduation portfolios. As a professional educator, I focus on creating restorative justice activities, inter-school collaborations to facilitate professional growth, and literacy initiatives.

- Provided effective instructional leadership for 20 teachers and 170 students by utilizing research-based practices, including data-driven instruction, and instructional strategies such as project-based learning (PBL), STEM, and Guided-Language Acquisition Design (GLAD).- Facilitated initiative to enhance school culture by increasing positive referrals from 0% to 74%, launching the Student of the Month program, developing the Advisory Program with counselors, providing conflict resolution strategies for parents, students, and staff.- Assessed & developed teacher performance in key areas, such as equity, high expectations, and progress monitoring using Cognia’s ELEOT evaluation tool. Analyzed evaluation results to provide targeted feedback and support ongoing professional growth, specifically in project-based instruction.- Ensured student success with multi-tiered systems of support, collaborating with Head of Student Support to create Individualized Education Programs, implementing supports & developing student-specific interventions.

As a K-12 PBL coach, I support teachers in adopting high-level teaching skills and project-based learning practices to provide in-depth, rigorous, and meaningful units of learning for their students. As Middle School Coordinator, I bridge communication and problem-solving with our principles and teachers to make improvements in the MS community. I also run the Advisory Program, facilitate weekly team meetings, act as point-person for teachers with concerns, and foster a positive & efficient working culture. As a humanities teacher, project-based learning is at the center of my pedagogy, engaging students in the various challenges that face our world (Social Studies) and literary discussions that are meaningful to my students’ lives (English). Through discussion & activity driven classes, students create relevant products that positively impact each other and our broader community.

I collaborate with other educators to create student-driven project-based learning environments that integrate science, social studies, English-language arts, and English as a Second Language (ESL) for middle schoolers. At APIS, I also consistently work to make these projects rooted in environmental and experiential education with real-world impact.

As head lifeguard, I was responsible for maintaining a family-friendly aquatic environment open to the public. I also was oversaw a team of 15 lifeguards and supervised their performance in patron interactions and rule-enforcement.

In the DLI program at MMSD, we taught an aligned bicultural curriculum, focusing on delivering instruction in a Title I context to a group of native English- and Spanish-speakers in both languages.

As a House Fellow, my goal was to strengthen a healthy living-learning environment in Bradley Learning Community. I lived with and created educational programming for first-year university students that involved focuses on community service, social justice issues, environmental stewardship, social-emotional health, and multi-cultural interaction. As House Fellow, I was also responsible for regular check-ins with residents, responding to emergencies, and mentoring students who were in need of additional support.

We facilitate workshops that challenge groups of people to work together, challenging themselves and their ability to interact together. This is done through on-ground activities, low-ropes courses, and high ropes courses.

El Lago del Bosque is a Spanish immersion camp where I had the privilege to serve as a camp counselor. Lots of children, all Spanish, very challenging, and totally fun.
