Roberts Jackson Solicitors specialises in industrial disease, personal injury and clinical negligence. After completing their Graduate Training Academy, I worked as a Litigation Executive managing my own industrial disease caseload. I was responsible for all aspects of case management and client interaction from inception of the claim to settlement. As well as guiding the client through the legal process and keeping them updated, the role involved obtaining their instructions with regards to exposure, sending out the letter of claim, locating insurers, instructing medical agencies, reviewing expert reports and valuing their case. Having completed these activities, I would then seek to explore settlement opportunities with third party insurers highlighting the strength of the claim and also the increased legal costs that would flow from defending the claim. Cases were issued and served which often provoked meaningful settlement discussions. I used my strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with clients and defendants alike and my negotiation abilities to obtain settlements compensating clients for their loss
