As a lead installer I worked on both design and installation aspects of large scale residential and commercial Audio/Video and automation systems. I worked with managerial staff and other technicians to complete efficient and clean installs in a timely manner. I worked in all areas of the company while my main duties were to oversee the installation of audio/video equipment, camera surveillance systems, computer networks, lighting and HVAC system control as well as dedicated home theater systems.

As a Field Technician at AVAI I worked on very large scale residential audio-video and automation systems. I worked both alone and along with others to complete the many stages of a lengthy installation. My experience includes the building and wiring of many Middle Atlantic equipment racks, testing of the hardware, and then on site, the wiring of the racks into the homes. I was responsible for the integrating of many sub-systems involved in a large estate such as security, lighting, pool control, HVAC, shade control and others. I also worked on mounting and wiring flat panel displays and wiring of "local loop" systems. I have completed several very large dedicated home theater installations as well. I have experience with Crestron and AMX control systems, Kaleidescape movie servers and many other hardware brands. I also have worked with GE and Axis products on CCTV systems.

As a lead installer I worked with field supervisors and project managers to complete audio video system installations. I helped design rack systems, installed multiple racks of equipment required to support advanced home automation systems. I integrated our equipment with lighting, security, pool control and HVAC systems. I have worked on many elaborate multi-phase projects. I also would setup and test all pieces of equipment in these installations. I also have experience working with computer software to program multiple brands of remote control devices such as Universal Remote, Pronto, and UTI. At the end of a project I would give a tutorial demonstration to the clients as well.

As a lead installer I handled all responsibilities of a small 5 employee business. I not only completed all the installations, I also contacted customers, set schedules, worked with vendors and distributors to order product, prepared estimates and sold product. I designed and installed many home theater systems, multi-room audio systems, retro-fitted wiring into existing residences, and repaired security systems.

As an installer, I gained experience with DTV satellite systems, home theater systems and multi-room audio systems. I worked on many older houses where retro-fitting the wire was necessary. From this, I received great experience in wiring through attics and fishing walls. I also hooked up AV gear and tested and setup hardware. I programmed universal remotes for the equipment and also gave customer demonstrations as well.
