I served as Guest Conductor for NYCB from 1981-1989 and was delighted to be able to return as a guest more than 25 years later.

My responsibilities included building and administering the $2.6 million music budget, manage the orchestra affairs (schedule, organizational and artistic development, quality control and development of musician roster, selection of soloists), negotiate rental and royalty agreements for the Company, Manage the music department including pianists, other conductors, librarian, orchestra personnel manager, work with dancers and ballet masters in rehearsals and performance, advise Artistic Director on musical matters for the company, consult with composers and choreographers as needed, assist development and public relations departments, write articles as needed for Boston Ballet publications, assist in fund raising and promotional events, give lectures for the Company, support the musical activities and needs for the Boston Ballet Center for Dance Education, and conduct a minimum of 75 performances per season.

My responsibilities as a guest conductor were to rehearse and conduct the ensemble in performance.

My responsibilities included working with the dancers, ballet masters, and choreographer, and conducting the Hamburg Philharmonic in rehearsal and performances.

In addition to conducting rehearsals and performances, my responsibilities included building the season schedule, managing the artistic budget, improving the organizational and artistic development, strategic planning and positioning of the organization while building a unique local and national profile for the ensemble, while serving as an advocate for the organization as a unique ensemble that represents the intersection between the arts and sciences in the greater Boston area. In addition, I guided the organization to create a unique identity that would distinguish the ensemble within the artistic community in greater Boston.
