CurrentI am responsible in providing machining on customer metal fabrication, pressure vessel manufacturing, and related maintenance projects. Ptimary duties include: studying blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions, work sequences, and tolerances of finished work pieces; measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or work piece as guides for subsequent machining; selects, alogns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and material on machines, such as drill presses, mills, lathes jig borers, plasma table, grinders, etc.; calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors, such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut; starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls, as required; verifies conformance of finished work, piece specifications; sets up and and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracyof machine settings or programmed control data; fits and assembles parts into complete assembly; verifies dimensions and alignment of assembly; installs machined replacement parts into mechanisms, machines and equipment, and tests operation of unit to ensure functionality and performance; cuts, shears, breaks plate, rolls tube, builds tube sheets for bundles, rebuilds hydraulic cylinders, operates welding equipment to cut or weld parts; develops specifications from general description and draws sketch of part or productto be fabricated; confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve maching or assembly problems. Other duties include welding, post weld heat treating, hydrostatic testing, operating the Forklift and Broderson; repairs to hydro oumps, hydraulic cylinders, and plugs leaks in coolerslocated in the field; picking up and delivering jobs to customers, and shop carpentry work, and other required duties.
