About Jonathan Minden
My lab concentrates on two focus areas:I. Proteomics tool development:We are working to solve many of problems plaguing the field of proteomics research. We are the developers of Difference Gel Electrophoresis (DIGE). Currently my lab is working on:i. Development protein handling tools to reduce processing time and increase reliability.ii. Development of an imaging device that automates gel-to-mass spec processing.iii. We are also developing a structured illumination fluorescent gel imager that has a million fold dynamic range for protein detection.II. Cell and developmental biology of fruit fly embryos:We use proteomics (2D-DIGE) to study a variety of developmental events in Drosophila from ventral furrow formation to WNT signaling and gravity-effects to gut microbiome-brain connections.
