Job ResponsibilitiesI. Perform Mechanization Planning in co-operation with the relevant stakeholdersII. Management/Implementation of the DAFF: Western Cape Mechanisation Plan project III. Designing and manufacturing of equipment for small-scale farmingIV. Planning, designing and maintenance of implements in compliance with relevant standards and norms which would entail the following:• Produce a technical design with specifications and submit for evaluation• Provide input to project and business plans• Technical investigations with recommendationsV. Ensure the optimal use of machinery and equipment on the farm and workshop and adapt and support the utilisation of implements and equipment on farms. Ensure the use of correct equipment on farms and do on-farm tests with adapted implements.VI. Render technical support in implementation of projects which would entail the following:• Presentations to promote the implementation of conservation farming• Monitor and evaluate the execution of projects for compliance with drawings and specifications• Render technical advice on prescribed norms, standards and relevant prescripts..VII. Perform administrative and related functions which would entail the following:• Provide inputs for filing quarterly reports• Maintain comprehensive filing system• Comply with Public Service prescripts i.e. PFMA and OHSAOperational Management of the office/workshop:
